My friends were is town this weekend and found that Jack Daniels is a good shot to chase with pumpkin pie.

It's probably a cover: "Without You"

Any fan of The Rules of Attraction the 2002 film about getting to know your self while being young adult surrounded by other soul searchers. The movie is brilliant and does not leave any part of college life to the imagination.

While in high school my friend Jess did a project on the film in particular the scene with the invisible girl killing herself in the dorm handicap bathroom. I remember watching this scene over and over again discussing the project, but really what sticks in your head after that haunting scene is the song playing in the background.

"Without you" originally written by the inspiring Badfinger was not given much attention until Harry Nilsson ( my current obsession) recorded it. With the scene featuring the Nilsson's version makes the girl in the scene an instant protagonist of the film. I feel it is in large part because of the raw emotion of the simple song if you look at the lyrics.

In conclusion I must say I enjoy the Nilsson cover version more then the original, but don't just take my word for it.

Wolfman Jack..maybe better then Delilah

My father was nice enough to drive me back to Ontario's capital. He ended up staying a couple of days to complete some fatherly tasks. Luckily as a result of that Grace (my wireless radio)works perfectly. I have been enjoying 1150 AM Hamilton Ontario's Oldies station, which I highly recommend.

Not only do they play Melanie, but they feature the old recordings of Wolfman Jack. With his hypnotizing moans and the colorful characters that call in. The recording also include interviews with many recording artists in the 60's and 70's, and I he is the legendary voice that narrated American Graffiti. Now being a fan of Delilah for years its hard to say who just engrosses me into their radio vortex more. I will have to get back to you on that. Lastly I have to say though listening to Wolfman Jack on Saturday nights from 6pm-11pm is becoming a highlight of my weekends.

The second video from Mama Stone Vintage. I hope everyone enjoys little tune called DayDream from the 1968 EMI album called Laughing Cavalier from Wallace Connection. This was their first and only hit selling over 20 million copies.

I own the 1998 release of Laughing Cavalier that includes bonus songs along with their most popular songs in French as well. If you would like a copy let know! I find their music more psychedelic pop and fun for the whole family.

Connections: Carole King and The Monkees

After doing some researching I found that that track in the video below is the title track from "Head" the Monkee's movie. If that surprises you then you haven't experienced that Monkee's because they are not just a saturday morning comedy. Porpoise head ( the title of the track)I found out is co- written by none other then Carole King. Who's album Tapestry is brilliant and so empowering to all people. I suggest you pick your self up a copy now!!

I also found out my favorite Monkee's tune "As we go along" is also co-written by Carole King, and people like Carly Simon better pssh. Thank you Carole!!

Marriage a solution to loneliness

I watched two films today and it scared me how fast the characters could quickly jump to love but then to marriage. The first movie was "Love with a Proper Stranger". The character's were unhappy in their own lives so Angie has a one night stand with Rocky. Gets pregnant blah blah blah full in love. Marriage is the only answer and we are both unhappy so marriage could change us. In the next movie "The Apartment" the love and marriage is decided by Jack Lemon's character over a game of cards and for once having someone to hang out with him during Christmas.

I know loneliness is hard, sad, and depressing. But marriage is forever and should be thought out. But this is a girl with divorced parents talking. I loved the movies though rent them with some friends I had a great time watching them today. Than you Turner Classic Movies we will meet again soon.

gone to look for america...

My new window!!

Well I am back in maryland for a month and a half. Then I will be off to new york until augest. I am living in cabbagetown in september above a chinese restaurant which I am pretty excited about. But until then I will be collaging, working, visiting grandparents, swimming, visiting didi, visiting kitty, and doing whatever else comes my way. If you would like a visit from me give me a ring it will be a lonely summer without seeing my toronto friends.... :(

Hello addiction

I have this addiction to buying music and I don't want to stop I think its healthy. See I have this goal I want to create the most ultimate playlist and by having this goal i need to expand my music collection and variety. I have finally realized that its always nice to look forward to something. I don't know about everyone but with me it keeps me....me. For example every sunday my friend gint and my asian half kitty have breakfast at 10:30. I look forward to this so much and maybe its just because I love hanging out with friends but i guess when i have that meal with them for 2 hours on sunday there is nothing else that i rather be doing. ok i am basically in heaven.

so everyone look forward to something once a week whetther its time by your self or time with people you love those moments are what make life great

Life as a collager

So I am home for a week and its good because i have american television to keep me sane. I had a great valentine's week and now I really believe in valentine's miracles cause they really do happen examples:

-snow

-seeing your friends smile

-love is everywhere

I'm sad the time of love is over but in less then a year it will be back! <3

suggestion for today: realize that laguna beach and the hills are reality thank you
